Mathematical and Physical Analyses of Middle/Neutral Surfaces Formulations for Static Response of Bi-Directional FG Plates with Movable/Immovable Boundary Conditions

This article is prompted by the existing confusion about correctness of responses beams and plates produced middle surface (MS) neutral (NS) formulations. study mathematically analyzes both formulations in context bending bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) discusses where misconceptions are. The relation between in-plane displacement field variables on NS MS are derived. These relations utilized to define a modified set boundary conditions (BCs) for immovable simply supported that enables either formulation apply fixation refence plane other formulation. A four-variable higher order shear deformation theory adopted present fields BDFG plates. 2D stress constitution used govern stress–strain relations. Based NS, Hamilton’s principles exploited derive equilibrium equations which described variable coefficient partial differential equations. governing terms resultants discretized quadrature method (DQM).
